Why can't I see the CAPTCHA tickbox on forms?
Forms are an easy way of collecting information from your website visitors, storing it or sending the data to a chosen email address or webhook.
To prevent spam messages from being submitted, Aiir supports versions 2 and 3 of Google's reCAPTCHA service.
This can be managed within the Site Settings app, and then enabled by toggling the 'Enable CAPTCHA' switch on your chosen form.
However, this won't always display the common 'I'm not a robot' tickbox many people expect.
Requiring visitors to confirm they are not robots was part of reCAPTCHA v2 - something which Aiir still supports.
However, where users have set up reCAPTCHA v3 in Site Settings, the newer version will take precedence.
Version 3 is a silent CAPTCHA which does not appear as part of the page containing the form, but still achieves the same result filtering out spam submissions - just in a way that is less intrusive for legitimate users.
If you would prefer to show the tick box and use the older version of reCAPTCHA, leave the Site Key and Secret Key blank in the reCAPTCHA v3 settings.
