Using LiveStream with Aiir's streaming service
LiveStream is Aiir's audio encoding software for Windows, designed to be used with PlayoutONE but works just as well with other audio sources.
This guide will help you connect LiveStream to Aiir's streaming service.
Configuring LiveStream
Where you install LiveStream will depend on your station's setup. The software can either be installed on a dedicated streaming machine fed using a physical audio input or AoIP device or, in some cases, installed directly on the machine that plays out your audio using a virtual audio cable.
Seek advice from your station's engineer or technical expert if you need help setting up LiveStream on a suitable PC.
Once you have installed LiveStream, open it and click 'Add Encoder':
This will open the Encoder Settings window, where you can fill in the following server details:
Description | [Your station name or something to identify the stream] |
Server Type | Icecast |
Server hostname or IP | uplink.aiir.com |
Port | 80 |
Mount point | See below |
Username | source |
Password | See below |
Bitrate | 128, 256 or 320 |
Sample Rate | 44100 |

Getting your encoder settings
If you are connecting LiveStream to your Aiir's streaming service for the first time, you will need your station's unique mount point and encoder password.
To retrieve them, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Aiir Streaming account.
- Click 'Stations' in the menu on the left-hand side of the page and select the name of the station you want to manage.
- Click the 'Broadcast settings' button on the right of the page.
Copy the required details and paste them into LiveStream:
Once the Server Details tab in LiveStream has been populated, press Save, and switch on the encoder:
