Using stream relays

Relays are a powerful tool in Aiir Streaming. They allow stations to create multiple stream URLs to be used with different services.

Relay stations take the same encoded audio used for your main station but allows you to create relay URLs for analysing listening methods or providing audio ads.

Aiir streams already provide a breakdown of device types in station analytics, so you don't need to use relays for this.

However, they are useful if you want to provide a different URL to third-party services like TuneIn, which could play additional pre-roll ads and have an ad-free version for users who listen via your own platforms. You could even use the same content but just use relays to compare analytics and see how many people listen via different methods.

Relays can currently only be set up by Aiir's support team. Contact us if you would like to use them.
