WebVT Error - ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE

You may find that you can't access WebVT in Google Chrome following an update to the Chrome software, with the browser reporting the error 'ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE'

This is due to a change in how Chrome interprets SSL certificates on websites.

The error will look similar to the one in the screenshot below.

Steps To Fix

To fix this, please download our SSL Certificate Utility on your PlayoutONE server machine by clicking here and run the tool on the server. The server machine is the one that is running PlayoutONE Monitor.

The tool will run and update the self-signed SSL certificate in use for WebVT.

The tool should report 'Certificate Imported to IIS successfully' once it has completed.

Then, clear your Chrome browser cache using the instructions here and then try to access WebVT again.
