Using other encoders with Aiir streaming

While Aiir has its own LiveStream audio encoder, unlike some streaming providers, it doesn't force you to use any specific software.

Stations will likely already have existing streaming infrastructure in place, so we want to make it as easy as possible for stations to get up and running with Aiir streaming.

This guide will walk you through obtaining your stream encoder settings and how to configure some common third-party encoding tools.

Getting your station's settings

When you connect your encoding software to Aiir's streaming service for the first time, you will need your station's server details. These are:

Server Type Icecast
Server (address / hostname / IP) uplink.aiir.com
Port 80
Mount point See below
Username source
Password See below
Bitrate 128
Sample Rate 44100
Channels Stereo
Codec / Encoder Type MP3 or AAC

To retrieve your station's unique mount point and encoder password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Aiir Streaming account.
  2. Click 'Stations' in the menu on the left-hand side of the page and select the name of the station you want to manage.
  3. Click the 'Broadcast settings' button on the right of the page.
  4. Copy the required details and paste them into your encoding software:

The blue button on the right of each field will copy the details to your clipboard.
