Stay on air with fallover playlists
Fallover playlists allow radio stations using Aiir's streaming service to avoid silence by creating a playlist of suitable music or pre-recorded content that will act as a modern-day 'emergency disc' if silence is detected.
This will allow stations to bridge the gap until the normal playout source has been restored, minimising listener disruption.
Fallover playlists can contain up to 200 tracks (music, voice or production) up to 500MB each.
💿 Creating a fallover playlist
Each station using Aiir Steaming has its own fallback playlist. This can be managed by following these steps:
- Log into your Aiir Streaming account.
- Click 'Stations' from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen and select the station you wish to manage.
- Click 'Fallback playlist' from the top of the page
- Upload your chosen MP3 or WAV files
- Save your playlist
Fallover playlists only play when there are active listeners. If a stream has no listeners and no audio being received from the station's encoder, the playlist will stop and resume from the last track played when someone tunes in.
