How long does Studio Inbox retain messages?

Incoming messages in Studio Inbox are not kept indefinitely; the retention period depends on the type of post. Retention periods are subject to change at any time.

For posts that have not been added to a curated list:

Bluesky	Bluesky posts are retained for seven days.
Facebook & Instagram	Facebook and Instagram comments are retained for two days. Facebook posts are retained for seven days.
Form submissions	Form submissions are retained in Studio Inbox for 12 months. The submissions within the Forms app (if available) will be kept for the data retention period specified for that form.
Emails	Emails not as part of a thread are retained for seven days.
Mobile app interactions	Mobile app interactions are retained for 12 months. Any attached audio, images or video files may be retained for two years.
RSS feeds	RSS feed items are retained for seven days.
SMS	SMS messages are retained for 12 months*
WhatsApp	WhatsApp messages are retained for 12 months.

Anything older than two years is deleted, even if it has been added to a curated list.

* Received SMS messages are also stored in a separate log, and these are retained according to each organisation's retention period, which can be modified by the Data Controller.
