WebVT Browser loading invalid webpage

If you are having issues with WebVT Browser not loading correctly, this page outlines how to clear the URL stored in Windows' temporary files.

In most cases, updating to the latest version of WebVT Browser should resolve any issues (for example, when the server-side assets were moved to a new subdomain).

However, if that doesn’t fix the issue. You can reset the URL manually.

The default URL which WebVT Browser will try and open on launch is stored in:

C:/Users/[current user]/AppData/Roaming/WebVT Browser/url.config

Opening this in Notepad will display a single-line file with the current URL WebVT Browser is trying to load.

You will likely see an invalid domain or additional parameters at the end, which are causing an issue.

The default URL, which is used when WebVT is first installed, is:

<https://utils.playoutone.com/webvtbrowser/stationselect.html>

Updating the file to revert to that URL and restarting WebVT should clear any issues with invalid URLs being loaded.
