Migrating from PlayoutONE Streaming
Aiir Streaming is now available, with many improvements over our legacy streaming service provided by PlayoutONE Web Services.
To take advantage of our new modern streaming platform, our long-standing customers will have to make some changes to the way their station streaming works.
PlayoutONE Streaming is being discontinued on 31st August 2024. Please follow the steps on this page to switch to Aiir Streaming as soon as possible to avoid any service disruption.
This page will walk you through accessing your new Aiir Streaming account, updating your streaming encoder and setting up a relay to catch any listeners/devices still connecting via the PlayoutONE Web Services stream URL.
🔑 Logging in to your new streaming account
We'll contact you to let you know when your new Aiir Streaming account is ready to access at streaming.aiir.com.
It will be created for you using the email address associated with your old PlayoutONE Streaming account.
You must set a password the first time you access your account.
The account will be set up with the same number of stations you previously had through the previous streaming platform.
As an existing customer, you do not need to choose a subscription tier. We will continue to bill you directly.
If you need any help with your account, contact Aiir Support.
🎵 Setting up your stations
To get started, click 'Stations' from the menu on the left, then choose your station.
You will be able to find your 'Broadcast settings' which are required to configure your streaming encoder.
Once you have your settings, check out our guides to set up your stream encoders.
Some PlayoutONE Streaming stations used Shoutcast streaming servers, while others used Icecast. Both serve the same purpose, but Icecast offers more advanced features.
All Aiir Streaming stations will use Icecast. If you previously used Shoutcast for your station, you may need to change this setting when reconfiguring your encoder.
🚧 Moving from PlayoutONE Streaming
After setting up your encoder to feed audio to Aiir Streaming, check it is working correctly by copying one of your stream URLs (found on the station dashboard, beneath the 'Broadcast settings' button) into a new browser tab or media player.
If you hear the audio, you have successfully configured your new streaming service.
You can start updating your digital services to use these new stream URLs and notifying your service providers to do the same.
