Locking network adapters in PlayoutONE

On machines with multiple network adapters, PlayoutONE allows you to choose which you want it to use.

This can prevent PlayoutONE data packets from erroneously being routed across an adapter intended for AoIP, potentially causing software issues and degraded transmission audio.

You can lock various PlayoutONE components to use a specific network adapter. On this page, we'll explain how to enable this option.

Audio Engine

You can lock the Audio Engine to your preferred network adapter by opening the Settings window using the cog icon in the bottom right corner of Audio Engine, selecting 'Other', then enabling 'Lock to network' and choosing your adapter on the 'Audio and Log' tab:

PlayoutONE

You can lock the main PlayoutONE application to use a certain network adapter by opening the Settings window and enabling 'Lock to network' from the SQL tab.

Monitor

To lock Monitor to only use a certain network adapter, open the Main Settings window, select the 'Options' tab, then change "All available network adapters" to your preferred adapter.
