Troubleshooting VST / DSP processing plugins
Parts of PlayoutONE, like the Audio Engine and LiveStream, allow you to integrate third-party VST or DSP plugins to process the audio you are encoding or recording.
This page covers some basic troubleshooting steps to resolve common issues you may face using third-party processing plugins with PlayoutONE.
At this time, only VST2 or 32-bit plugins are supported.
Beeping or audible interruptions
Processing tools often use audible intrusions to indicate that the product is not correctly licensed. This may be an expired trial or an additional license required for the way it is being used, such as a single-station license being used on multiple stations.
If you experience this, you will need to contact the software provider directly. Aiir Support is unable to assist with licensing third-party plugins.
Glitchy audio
Some audio processors can be resource-intensive. If you notice degraded audio quality when listening to your processed audio, double-check your machine meets the processing tool's minimum system requirements.
You should also check that your audio devices are in the correct mode, like DirectSound, WASAPI, or ASIO. If this is set incorrectly, you may encounter glitches with your audio.
Silence or no audio output
You should check the documentation for your audio processing plugin to ensure it is configured correctly. Also, ensure the correct plugin type is selected, and you are using a compatible version.
