Replacing default metadata with specific messages
With PlayoutONE, it is possible to replace your station's default metadata (the currently playing track) shown on radio display screens with specific messages on a schedule.
This can be handy if a show is being played from an external source, like a satellite feed, and you don't want out-of-date song information to be shown.
To schedule metadata in PlayoutONE:
- Open Monitor and double-click on the station whose metadata you want to change.
- Click the 'Metadata Schedule' tab
Create a new profile with a name you will recognise, for example, 'PlayoutONE Default' or 'Custom Message' for your own text. Each one will require a profile ID you will use to schedule it.
In this example, we'll create a profile called 'Generic Metadata' with the ID of G1 showing a generic station message:
Once you have saved your profile, you can update the schedule below to insert the one you have created. Right-click on the time/times you wish to display your custom metadata and press 'Add'.
- Choose which profile you would like to schedule for the time you selected.
Once you have saved your changes, the custom metadata will be shown on radio displays during the time you have specified.
You can clear custom metadata and return to the default by right-clicking any slots on the schedule where custom metadata is being shown and selecting 'Clear'.
