Using Bluesky with Aiir
Bluesky is a popular alternative to the micro-blogging site X (previously Twitter). Stations can now link their Bluesky accounts with Aiir, allowing them to communicate via Social Publisher and Studio Inbox.
On this page, we'll explain how to link your account, publish posts, and follow the conversation surrounding your Bluesky posts.
🦋 Connecting a Bluesky account
- To add your Bluesky account to Aiir, go to the Admin section while logged in as an organization Admin or Owner.
- Click 'Add or remove social accounts'.
Click the 'Add Account...' button and select 'Bluesky'.
- In Bluesky, create a dedicated App Password which Aiir can use to access your account.
Once set up, copy the App Password and paste it into Aiir's 'Add a Bluesky account' page, along with your account handle (@username).
- Click 'Add account' to link your Bluesky account with Aiir.
- Once set up, you can choose which users can access the account by going to 'Add or remove people or change what they can access' from the Admin page.
✍️ Posting to Bluesky
Once you set up your account in Aiir, you can use it in Social Publisher, just as you would Facebook, Instagram or Threads.
Select your Bluesky account and any others you wish to post from, compose your message, and choose when you want the post to be published. (Any hashtags and @mentions will appear when the post is shared on Bluesky).
You can attach up to four images or a link to each post.
📥 Using Bluesky with Studio Inbox
Once your Bluesky account has been linked with Aiir, it will appear (to users with access) as an available source to add to your Studio Inbox workspaces.
You'll be able to see your posts, any @mentions or replies to your posts. You can also reply to any post by clicking on it.
