Which rules should I set up in Scheduler?
The rules you should set up in Aiir Scheduler depend entirely on your station's format, as they can affect your station's overall sound.
Stations with a CHR format will have different rules from those playing classic hits or oldies. Programming consultants can advise on which rules work best for your station.
Here are some basic tips for getting started with scheduling rules:
⛓️💥 Breakable and unbreakable rules
You can apply both breakable and unbreakable rules of the same type.
For example, you can set a breakable rule that the same artist shouldn't be played more than once a day while having an unbreakable rule that the same artist can never be played more than once every few hours.
Unbreakable rules will take priority when scheduling.
↔️ Separation time
Rules allow you to set a time period before similar items will next come around in rotation.
Depending on other rules you have in place and how many items you have in a category, you may wish to include minutes on your rules to avoid your station sounding repetitive.
For example, if you only had six tracks in a category, the same item could come around at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00. Adding minutes to the rule would ensure you don't always hear the same track at the same time in an hour.
