Related artists and collaborations
In Aiir Scheduler, you can associate multiple artists with a music item to ensure that your chosen separation rules are being respected. This helps avoid "David Guetta" and "David Guetta & Sia" being treated as two seperate artists, and similar tracks coming around sooner than expected.
You can also make a note of related artists, so band members, partners, and new stage names can be factored in when scheduling your logs.
👥 Collaborations
Unlike some music scheduling systems, Aiir Scheduler allows you to list as many featured artists as you need on collaboration tracks.
Select an item from your library drawer, click 'Edit', then start typing the name of a featured artist to link them with the audio item:

Listing each artist individually ensures that artist separation rules function correctly. For example, it would prevent "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie from playing too close to a track by either artist on their own.
Can this be detected automatically when you import a library?
This was something we discussed at length as we developed Scheduler, but decided against implementing it as we felt it might cause more work to manually correct errors than the time it takes to split artists.
For example, artists like "Florence & The Machine" and "KC & The Sunshine Band" should be stored as single entities, rather than splitting into two and leaving you with "Florence", "The Machine", "KC" and "The Sunshine Band" as seperate artists which would need manually correcting.
🔗 Related artists
Scheduler allows you to record any associations or relationships between artists in your library.
If you search for an artist from the Library drawer, click 'Edit' and switch to the 'Related artists' tab, you can create a link between two artists. For example:

You can link artists without having to specify the nature of the relationship between them, but Scheduler also includes options for:
- Band members
- Subgroups
- Stage names / aliases
- Previous names
- Band founders
- Tribute acts
- Collaborations
- Parents
- Siblings
- Married
- Romantic relationships
- Named after
