Export logs to StationPlaylist

Scheduler allows you to export logs in formats compatible with several popular playout automation systems, including StationPlaylist.

On this page, we'll explain how to configure a StationPlaylist station output in Scheduler and explain what needs to be configured in StationPlaylist to automatically import the logs.

💾 Exporting from Scheduler

  1. From your Scheduler dashboard, click the Station Outputs button on the top navigation bar.
  2. Click 'New station output'.
  3. Select your station.
  4. Choose 'StationPlaylist' from the dropdown list.
  5. Choose either 'File download' to manually import the files, or connect a cloud storage account to automate the process.
  6. Once configured, click 'Create station output'.

After configuring your station output, you can then return to your library and press the 'Export' button on the sidebar on the left.

You just need to choose which days' logs to export and press 'Export Logs'.

⤵️ Importing into StationPlaylist

To automatically fetch logs as they are exported from Scheduler, you need to use StationPlaylist Creator to import them:

  1. Install your cloud storage provider's sync app on a server that StationPlaylist Creator can access (this could be your main server or another machine on the same network, with a shared folder created).
  2. Once configured, open the Playlist Editor in StationPlaylist Creator (Tools > Playlist Editor).
  3. Open the Music Log Importer from the Tools menu and switch to the Options tab.
  4. Enable 'Automatic Import'.
  5. Specify the filename format mmddyy".log".
  6. Enter the folder path where your log files will be saved. This should include the station-specific path created by Scheduler automatically, not just the top-level Aiir Scheduler folder.
  7. Your log structure may be set automatically. If it's missing, enter the following details:

Position Length Contain
Hour Markers 1 11 HOUR MARKER
Audio Tracks 0 0
Break Notes 28 1 *
Voice Intros 9 1 V
Voice Outros 9 1

Non-Instant Events 9 1 ~
Song Intro Time 0 0
Hour 13 2
Minute 16 2
Filename 28 229
Break Note 28 229
  1. Switch back to the 'Details' tab.
  2. Choose the log date you wish to import and select the appropriate .log file.
  3. Press 'Import' then close the Log Import Window.
  4. Once imported into Creator, switch to StationPlaylist Studio and go to File > Append External Playlist or press Ctrl+E and choose the M3U hourly playlist files generated by Creator.
  5. Press the 'Automate' button at the top of the log to automatically import future playlists.
