Tags in PlayoutONE
Tags are a powerful way to sort and categorize your media library items, introduced in PlayoutONE 5.2.
Rather than traditional categories, there's no limit to how many tags you can associate with an audio item.
For example, you could have a song in your Gold category, but also tagged as '80s', 'ballad', 'love song' or anything else you can think of.
These tags can be used when searching your library or to create filters, as well as to restrict audio from playing on certain stations.
✏️ Creating tags
To create tags, click the PlayoutONE icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Launcher, then open Tag Manager.
Type the name of the tag you want to set up, then press 'Add'.
Once created, you can enable or disable tagged audio from playing on specific stations. This allows you to prevent out-of-format songs from being played. For example, keeping classic tracks from playing on a Hot AC station.
🏷️ Applying tags
Tags can be applied to individual audio items in the Media Editor. Just double-click an item in the library, scroll to the 'Tags' tab and pick which tags to apply.
You can also apply tags to multiple tracks by selecting them from your library and clicking the 'Bulk Operations' (🔧) button.
Tags can also be applied automatically as tracks are imported to PlayoutONE. In Auto Importer, you can set a job to add or remove tags by editing the job and going to Options > Tags.
