"Your app is affected by Google Play's target API level requirements"

If you receive an email from Google Play informing you that "Your app is affected by Google Play's target API level requirements" and has been temporarily removed from the Google Play Store, it's likely been several years since you last updated your mobile app.

Aiir's mobile app codebase, which all our station apps share, is updated several times a year to work with the latest versions of Android, but we don't automatically update apps and let you decide when it's right for your station to update.

Each station will have its own preference for how frequently it wants to update, as well as its own dates to avoid, which clash with major broadcasting events.

When you are ready to update your Aiir mobile app:

  1. Log in to the Aiir platform
  2. Go to Mobile Apps
  3. Click 'Prepare update' next to the app you wish to update.
  4. Review your existing app metadata and account permissions to ensure that everything is up to date.

If you have an iOS app as well as one for Android, you may need to wait for Apple to grant you CarPlay developer privileges before we can update your apps. This is only required once, as your developer account will retain permission to publish CarPlay apps afterwards.

Once you have prepared your app update and it has been reviewed and published by Google Play, your Android app will be restored.
