Receive PlayoutONE alerts by text, push notification and more
Monitor has the ability to send alerts by email when PlayoutONE encounters an issue, but some stations have requested the option to receive these alerts via text message, push alerts, or their preferred notification method.
While PlayoutONE cannot send these natively, these can be set up yourself using automation services like Zapier, Make.com or IFTTT.
There are several reasons why we don't currently offer it directly, including the varying nature of text messaging services across countries, the fact that text messages are not always immediately delivered by carriers, and each station having its own individual preference for how notifications should be received.
Using an automation service allows you to connect an email account, and whenever PlayoutONE sends an email to it, that message can be converted into an SMS, WhatsApp, instant message or other form of push notification to suit you and your team.
Each service works in broadly the same way:
- Create your account
- Connect an email account which will receive emails from Monitor
- Connect your preferred notification method
- Create a rule/zap/integration which sends you an alert via your preferred method whenever an email from Monitor is detected.
You can forward the entire message content to see what the issue is, or parse the message for essential information and use it to write your own alert.
You can refer to the support documentation for the automation service you use for assistance with setting up your alerts.
