Export logs to NexGen

Scheduler allows you to export logs in formats compatible with several popular playout automation systems, including NexGen.

On this page, we'll explain how to configure a NexGen station output in Scheduler and explain what needs to be configured in NexGen to automatically import the logs.

๐Ÿ’พ Exporting from Scheduler

  1. From your Scheduler dashboard, click the Station Outputs button on the top navigation bar.
  2. Click 'New station output'.
  3. Select your station.
  4. Choose 'NexGen' from the dropdown list.
  5. Choose either 'File download' to manually import the files, or connect a cloud storage account to automate the process.
  6. Once configured, click 'Create station output'.

After configuring your station output, you can then return to your library and press the 'Export' button on the sidebar on the left.

You just need to choose which days' logs to export and press 'Export Logs'.

โคต๏ธ Importing into NexGen

To automatically fetch logs as they are exported from Scheduler, you need to use St to import them:

  1. Install your cloud storage provider's sync app on a server that NexGen can access (this could be your main server or another machine on the same network, with a shared folder created).
  2. Once configured, open NexGen's Config window from the main toolbar.
  3. Click on 'Station' from the Config toolbar.
  4. Double-click on the station you wish to configure logs for.
  5. Click 'Music' under the 'Format' section.
  6. Add a new format, giving it a suitable name like 'Aiir'.
  7. In the 'Path/Filename' field, enter the path and name structure where NexGen can find your logs from Scheduler. The filename should end @DD@MM@YY.log   or similar, which should match the output you created in Scheduler.
  8. Enable 'Music Auto Import', selecting the matching format.
  9. Your log structure may be set automatically. If it's missing, enter the following details:

Position Width Contain
Event Number 4  8
Event Length 38  4
Event Code 1  2
Log Time (Hour) 54

Log Time (Minute) 0

Log Time (Second) 0

Log Time (AM/PM) 0

Title 13  24

Verify Sequence 0 0
Spot Text File Path 0  0
Unshared Songs 0

Log Date (Year) 51

Log Date (Month) 45

Log Date (Day) 48

  1. Once the format has been set, save your changes and open your station's Logs window.
  2. Press the 'Load Music' button at the top of the log to import upcoming hours once they have been exported from Scheduler.
