PlayoutONE v5.4 release notes
PlayoutONE version 5.4 was released on 28th November 2025, as part of our big Black Friday promotion.
To learn how to upgrade from your existing version of PlayoutONE, check out this guide.
Here is a rundown of what's new in version 5.4.0:
| PlayoutONE Standard becomes free-to-use |
PlayoutONE Standard, Auto Importer, FileCopy and LiveStream are free for everyone to use without requiring a license.
The Standard edition of PlayoutONE is designed for individual and hobby use. It is made available as-is, without ongoing updates or support.
As such, version 5.4 disables license checks within PlayoutONE Standard and LiveStream. Auto Importer and FileCopy retain a license screen that allows users who previously purchased a license to unlock additional jobs, but each allows one job to be created without a license.
Password protection on PlayoutONE's Settings app has also been disabled to prevent unintentional lockouts.
