Using third-party ad providers with Aiir websites, players and apps

Aiir websites, mobile apps, and players let you replace the simple, built-in ad service with several powerful alternatives.

On this page, we'll outline the various options supported and how to set them up within Aiir's Ads app. You should refer to your ad service's own documentation for detailed instructions.

Adtech

If you use Adtech's service, this type lets you easily insert their ads and set up responsive bounds.

Responsive bounds are used to show different ads depending on the viewport size (browser window or screen, whichever is smaller).

If you run third-party JavaScript code via Adtech, this doesn't always work well. We've found that using Web Custom HTML works better.

Google Adsense

We support Adsense and it's easy to set up, simply by copying and pasting the tag code provided to you. Our system ensures ads are served correctly and efficiently.

Google Ad Manager

Like Adsense, we've made it easy to add ads via Google Ad Manager. We just require your account ID (normally 7 or 8 digits), the code which you give each unit, and the size(s) which you assign to the unit.

There is no need to copy and paste the chunks of code which they provide - we've already built all of this into our ad-serving platform.

If you're having any difficulties serving ads from Google, try opening their console on your website. It shows useful information about the ads being served.

VAST

Aiir's Players let you switch from the default ad-serving method to an external pre-roll ad service.

On the Advanced page of your player's options, you can enter a "Pre-roll VAST URL" which is a link supplied by your ad service using the VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) format.

It should point to an XML-like file known as a VAST tag, which contains information about the ad campaigns running, tracking/analytics info, and the media/creative to play itself.
