Running different versions of PlayoutONE

We strongly advise stations to ensure that all computers on their network are kept up to date with the latest version of PlayoutONE, or at least with the same version on all computers that interact.

Mismatched versions of PlayoutONE can cause issues because PlayoutONE on different computers interacts with the same shared database.

The exact nature of the conflict and its potential damage depend on the versions of PlayoutONE accessing the same database.

Most changes will be backwards compatible with no detrimental impact, but if PlayoutONE updates fix a known bug, having old versions writing to the new version database may mean the issue persists.

When planning an update to PlayoutONE, please ensure all computers running it on your network are updated around the same time.
