Creating great app screenshots

Screenshots make your app stand out from others on the App Store and Google Play Store, so it is important that they show your app looking its best.

On this page, we'll walk through the various elements of your app which should be configured before you generate screenshots for the app stores.

Theme

Each station on your app has its own colour scheme. Within the Mobile Apps section of Aiir, click Stations > choose a station > Themes. This will allow you to set its look and feel - colours, logo, etc.

Your app will need a header logo with a maximum height of 80px. The colour of your station's logo should contrast with the colours used by your app.
The colours you apply to the stations within your mobile app will act as your app's theme.

For example, if you have a full-colour logo, a lighter colour or pure white background would work. If you are using a white/transparent logo, use a colourful background, such as your station's primary colour.

Navigation

The navigation menu appears from the left when you tap the 'burger' icon at the top. It features two colours; we recommend setting them to match your station's primary and secondary colours.
The colours of your navigation menu should contrast with the background and text colours.

Player

The player sits at the bottom of every screen and can be expanded by dragging or tapping the arrow. This logo is also used on your device's lock screen while playing.

This must be a square of 652px - 652px. You can also set a colour for the progress bar.

In-app page styling

If content is viewed within the app, such as news or weather, it is displayed in a mobile-optimised layout. You should set various colours here, such as the header and buttons.
It’s always best to try various colours and styles before submitting the screenshots.

You can update the look and feel of stations within your app immediately without requiring an update via the app stores. However, if you want to replace the screenshots that accompany your app store listing, you will need to prepare an app update.
