What dig depth should I use for Scheduler categories?

Categories in Aiir Scheduler each have a 'dig depth' which is used to specify what proportion of the items in that category should be considered when scheduling.

For example, you may have a music category with 100 items in it. Those 100 items are sorted by most rested, so once an item has been played, it goes to the back of the category.

The dig depth allows you to choose how many of those 100 items should be considered when filling a position. In our example, if the dig depth is set to 50%, only the 50 items which were played the longest ago will be considered as valid when scheduling a log position.

If all the items within your specified dig depth clash with other scheduling rules, an unfilled position will remain in your logs and it will need to be manually fixed/scheduled.

So, the greater your category's dig depth, the more items in that category will be considered for scheduling.

We recommend using a dig depth of at least 50% for music categories, with non-music categories set according to the content they contain. For example, you may wish to use all your current station imaging.
