Setting up a music library in Scheduler
Aiir Scheduler is the first cloud-based music scheduling tool, accessible anytime from anywhere through a web browser. This means your music library is no longer confined to the same server as your playout software.
Each Aiir Scheduler user currently has their own library, which can be exported to Dropbox to be automatically imported by your playout system or saved manually and loaded yourself.
📥 Importing an existing library
Getting started with Aiir Scheduler doesn't mean rebuilding your station's music library from scratch.
You can import existing tracks, categories, and clocks from third-party music scheduling tools.
Check out our step-by-step guides for bringing your existing library into Aiir Scheduler.
If you are importing audio items that feature artist collaborations, such as "David Guetta & Sia" in the "Artist" field, a single artist with that name will be created. To take full advantage of Aiir Scheduler's advanced artist separation rules, you should modify these collaborations after importing to list each featured artist separately. Find out more...
✏️ Creating a new library
If you want a fresh start, you can create a new library for your station in a few clicks.
When you open Scheduler for the first time, click the blue "Let's go" button to begin.
Next, give your library a name, and follow the steps on-screen to begin setting it up:
- Choosing which station(s) will use it
- Select your automation system
- Set your tempos
- Define any custom audio fields if you wish to include additional metadata, such as peak chart year.
- Skip importing from another scheduler if you're starting fresh
- Set up your categories.
- Create your clocks
- Assign them to your schedule
- Set up your scheduling rules
⚙️ Changing your library settings
Once you have created your music library, you can change its options by clicking the 'Settings' button in the top-right corner of the screen (beneath your user account picture and name).
This allows you to change:
- the name of your library
- which stations use it
- the tempos used in your library
- the rules applied when scheduling
- the custom audio fields available
- the tags which can be applied
- metrics you can use
- the look of notes, commercials and commands
You can also delete your library or import new data to it.
🗑️ Deleting your library
You can delete your music library in Scheduler by going to the Settings page and pressing 'Delete library'. You will be prompted to confirm your decision before it is completed.
Once you have deleted your music library in Aiir Scheduler, it cannot be retrieved. You will need to start again by creating or importing a new library.
