Why won't logs or media import to PlayoutONE?

Auto Importer is a powerful tool which makes lifting and shifting logs or media files from other applications into PlayoutONE easy.

However, a few issues can cause the Auto Importer not to work correctly. On this page, we've tried to cover some of these. The good news is that they're easy to fix.

"Duplicate. Not Imported."

Sometimes, when you try to import logs or media into PlayoutONE using Auto Importer, you may receive the error message "Duplicate. "Not imported."

This indicates that the file has already been imported into PlayoutONE, possibly when it was first created but before it had finished saving.

This can be common when importing logs, depending on the scheduling software used. If that happens, ensure no other applications have the file locked or in use, and try re-importing it.

You can follow these steps to re-import log files into PlayoutONE if necessary. Check the 'Imported' folder for the previously imported file, then move it back up to its parent folder to try again.

Skipping the 'Import' folder

Files must be saved in the top-level folder monitored by your Auto Importer job for any logs or media files to be brought into PlayoutONE.

If you save anything directly into a sub-folder, including the automatically created 'Imported' or 'Failed' ones, Auto Importer will not detect the newly added files.
