Sync library and logs with PlayoutONE Pro
Scheduler allows you to easily sync your station's library and music logs with PlayoutONE directly.
This means that most changes you make to items in your library in PlayoutONE or Scheduler will be automatically reflected in the other. For example, updating track metadata.
Direct sync requires PlayoutONE Pro version 5.3. You can find out about upgrading to the latest version here.
On this page, we'll explain what can be synced, how to configure a PlayoutONE station output in Scheduler and what needs to be configured on your PlayoutONE server to import your logs.
๐ Set up a station output in Scheduler
Before you can connect PlayoutONE and Scheduler, ensure that a station output for PlayoutONE Pro direct sync has been created.
This likely will have been done for you when you chose PlayoutONE Pro as your automation system during Scheduler's initial setup, but if you changed playout automation software or deleted it, you will need to create one manually by following these steps:
- From your Scheduler dashboard, click the Station Outputs button on the top navigation bar.
- Click 'New station output'.
- Select your station.
- Choose 'PlayoutONE Pro' from the dropdown list.
- Choose 'Sync directly'.
- Click 'Create station output'.
๐ Authorising a connection to Aiir
Next, we need to connect PlayoutONE to your Aiir account, where your logs are being scheduled. You only need to do this once on each PC that will import logs (usually your server).
- Go to Monitor and open the 'Station Settings' window.
- Go to the 'Integrations' tab.
- Enable the 'Aiir' integration.
- Enter your Aiir login details when prompted.
- Choose which organisation you want to sync with.
- Once logged in, enable 'Sync with Scheduler'.
- Save your changes.
This will enable the Auto Importer and reconciliation options for Aiir Scheduler.
โคต๏ธ Setting up Auto Importer
Once connected, we will need to create an import job for each station you want to sync and reconcile logs for. This is in addition to your existing Music Logs import job, which the new Scheduler sync job will work alongside.
Before creating a Scheduler sync job, if you previously used Music 1 to schedule your logs, ensure it does not attempt to make any modifications to PlayoutONE's database while syncing with Aiir Scheduler.
- Open Auto Importer and create a new job.
- Set the Import Method to 'Integration: Aiir Scheduler' and select the correct station in a multi-station setup.
- Click the 'Aiir Scheduler' tab and choose the corresponding station in Aiir.
If you have a multi-station setup, make sure you select the correct station. If you don't see any stations listed in the drop-down list, ensure you have created a direct sync Station Output.
- Set your Music Type and Non-Music Type. These determine which type to use in PlayoutONE if an item in the Scheduler is set as music or not.
- On the Initial Sync tab, choose the type of sync you want. If you choose to have an empty Scheduler library and want to populate it from PlayoutONE, you will need to select the categories you wish to exclude.
- When ready, click 'Run initial library sync'. Progress will be shown in a searchable list.
- After the sync has finished, save your changes.
๐พ Exporting from Scheduler
After configuring PlayoutONE and the required direct sync station outputs, you can then return to your Scheduler library and press the 'Export' button on the sidebar on the left.
You just need to choose which days' logs to export and press 'Export Logs'.
๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ What can be synced between Scheduler and PlayoutONE?
As PlayoutONE works slightly differently from Scheduler in a few areas, some item attributes only sync once during the initial import or in one direction, while others currently don't sync at all to ensure both systems function correctly.
โ Full synchronisation
Adding an item | Items can be added from PlayoutONE or a dummy UID created from Scheduler. |
Deleting an item |
Items can be deleted from PlayoutONE or moved to a 'deleted' type depending on the option selected in Auto Importer.
|
Title | An item's title can be updated from PlayoutONE or Scheduler. |
Genre | An item's genre can be updated from PlayoutONE or Scheduler. |
Release Year |
Year value syncs both ways, but if it's shown in Scheduler as 'Release Date', it won't switch back to 'Release Year'. Any changes saved in Scheduler will then overwrite PlayoutONE.

Royalties | Album, Composer, Arranger, Publisher, Label, Catelog number and ISRC are fully synchronised. |

The duration shown in Scheduler will reflect the Extro set in PlayoutONE.
|
Intro |
The Intro shown in Scheduler will match what is set in PlayoutONE.

The most recently added/changed category in Scheduler takes precedence in PlayoutONE, which only supports one category. Changing the category in PlayoutONE to a non-Aiir category will break the link with Aiir Scheduler.
|
Release Date |
Year value syncs both ways, but if it's shown in Scheduler as 'Release Date', it won't switch back to 'Release Year'. Any changes saved in Scheduler will then overwrite PlayoutONE.
|

Categories from PlayoutONE |
Categories set in PlayoutONE will be used during the initial library import to create categories in Scheduler, but after that, Scheduler categories will be used.
|
Start date |
Setting a start date in PlayoutONE will sync to Scheduler on initial or new items only. Setting in Scheduler won't sync to PlayoutONE.
|

|
Selected hours |
Selected hours will be toggled on if daypart is enabled in PlayoutONE on initial or new item sync only. Setting in Scheduler does not sync to PlayoutONE.
