Website page templates
Aiir's Page Manager allows you to easily create and update pages on your website.
Each site will have various page templates available, determined by the theme you have chosen.
On this page, we'll explain how to change a page's template and what some of the common templates are intended for.
Changing page templates
By default, new pages are created with the "Pages" template. You can change this from the sidebar while editing the page in Page Manager.
Just switch to the 'Advanced' tab and choose the template you wish to use:
Home
Pages using the 'Home' template will have their content replaced by a copy of your site's homepage.
To modify the content blocks shown on your homepage, go to Template Builder.
Player Selection
If your site has multiple players, having a page using the 'Player Selection' template will show the various players and allow visitors to choose which one to listen to.
Pages
The 'Pages' template is the default for most Aiir-powered websites.
The exact layout varies depending on your site's theme, but typically this template features two content areas - a primary one for the content you create in Page Manager, and a secondary column off to the side containing content blocks you specify in Template Builder.
Pages Wide
The 'Pages Wide' template is a variation of the default one without the secondary column.
This can be used to display your page's content across your theme's available screen space.
Microsite
There may be occasions when you want to create a custom page beyond your theme's regular page layout.
Pages using the 'Microsite' template will retain your site's regular navigation menu, but beyond that, the page can be created using your own custom HTML, occupying the full width of the browser canvas.
As the name suggests, this template can be used to create microsites for specific events, promotions, etc.
As with any custom code you add to your website, Aiir's Support team are unable to advise on creating page content using the 'Microsite' template.
No Template
Pages without a template set will be displayed without any of your site's regular theme styles present.
When used unintentionally, it can give the appearance of a 'broken' page, with your content being shown in your browser's fallback font. This is usually a serif font like Times New Roman on a plain white background.
There are times, however, when you may want your site to ignore the default theme. Similar to the 'Microsite' template, not setting a template allows pages to use their own independent CSS styling without being affected by your site's regular theme.
Other templates
If your site uses a custom theme designed by Aiir for you, additional page templates may be created to meet your requirements.
If you would like to add an additional template to your custom theme, contact our Support team and we can provide more information.
As page templates are part of your site's theme, we cannot add custom page templates to our off-the-shelf website themes.
